What Is Smash Karts?
Smash Karts is Tall Team's 3D multiplayer kart battle game. You are fighting for points, not racing to a finish line: drive through the arena, collect a weapon and use it to destroy rival karts. Steering matters just as much as firing, because your route determines which targets and pickups you can reach.
Short rounds and quick respawns keep you involved after a knockout. Rockets, machine guns, mines and temporary invincibility give each encounter a different rhythm, from lining up a shot to turning a pursuit into a trap.

How to Play Smash Karts
Pick Up, Attack, Reposition
Drive over a question-mark box to receive a random weapon or power-up, then activate it when an opportunity appears. Direct-fire weapons reward a good approach angle, while traps work better along routes opponents are likely to take. After attacking, change position instead of waiting in the same lane for return fire.
Play the Objective
In standard Free For All, the driver with the most eliminations wins the short timed round, usually around three minutes. Other modes change what matters: Capture the Flag focuses on bringing the enemy flag home, Hat Holder rewards keeping possession, and Gem Collector makes carrying and protecting pickups important. Arms Race advances your weapon after a smash. Check the active mode before treating every encounter as a deathmatch.
Build Your Collection
Public matches award experience toward levels and rewards such as coins, appearance items and character tokens. Spend character tokens in the prize machine to expand your character collection. Seasonal content also brings themed arenas and rewards, so the available selection can change.
Game Controls
Desktop play uses driving keys and a single weapon button.
- W A S D or β β β β: drive and steer
- β£ Space: fire or activate the current weapon
On phones and tablets, use the on-screen driving controls and tap the item button to activate your weapon. The mobile apps are optional; supported devices can also play in a browser.
Smash Karts Battle Tips
- Plan your next pickup. After spending a weapon, steer toward another box without driving straight through a busy firing lane.
- Line up before firing. With a straight-firing weapon, turn the kart into a useful attack angle first. Shooting while your target is already leaving that line wastes the opening.
- Trap a route, not an empty space. A mine near a corner or pickup approach is more likely to catch another driver than one far from normal traffic.
- Give a fleeing kart some room. Following directly behind makes it easier for the driver ahead to leave a trap in your path. Approach from an offset angle instead.
- Use temporary protection purposefully. Invincibility creates an opportunity to press an attack, but plan where to go when it expires rather than remaining surrounded.
- Change priorities with the mode. Carrying a flag or a valuable gem haul can make a safe return more useful than chasing one extra elimination.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I set up a match just for friends?
Create a private game and share its invitation with your friends. Private-room settings let you choose the arena, mode, weapon rules and match length, making it easier to organize a casual session or practice a particular setup.
Why am I not earning XP in a private game?
Private matches do not award XP. Use public matches when you want to work toward account levels; keep private rooms for practice or custom games with friends.
Can I keep my progress when switching between browser and app?
Link and sign in to the same Smash Karts account to carry experience and customizations between supported browser and app versions. Check that you are using the same account before starting on another device.
Do higher levels or different kart skins make me stronger?
Level and appearance unlocks do not improve kart performance. They expand your cosmetic choices, so a more elaborate kart is not automatically harder to beat.
Do I have to pay to start playing?
No. Smash Karts is free to enter, and the mobile apps are free to obtain. Optional in-app purchases are available, and the Android listing also includes ads.
What should I do if the game won't load, lags, shows a blank screen, or won't start?
Try one of these four steps:
- Clear your browser cache, then reload the game.
- Open the game in an incognito or private browsing window.
- Try a different browser, such as Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.
- On the game cover, click Primary in the top-right corner and select a different game source, if available.
What should I do if matchmaking stays on "Connecting" or the loading circle keeps spinning?
Matchmaking can take longer when fewer players are online or when servers are busy. A persistent "Connecting" message can also indicate a connection or server issue. Try these options:
- Recommended: on the game cover, use the source selector in the top-right corner (usually labeled Primary) to try another available game source. This may help if the current source is having connection issues, but different sources may share the same matchmaking servers. If no other source is available, try the options below.
- Browse Similar Games on this site and try a similar game while you wait.
- Choose a Single Player game that does not require matchmaking. PvE games may also be suitable, but check that they support solo play: a PvE tag alone does not guarantee single-player or offline play.
